Enstasis is the art of standing within. Scholars of yoga use the word for samadhi: the deep, awake stillness where the seeker rests fully inside their own being and inner vision opens.
That is the purpose of this place. Ceremony, meditation, clean food, the jungle and the sea all point the same direction: home, to the quiet center that has been waiting for you all along.
Each Enstasis retreat gathers a small circle of guests for five days of ceremony, reflection and rest. Two Ayahuasca ceremonies with Maestro Llave form the heart of the journey, held within days of yoga, meditation, ocean air and nourishing food.

For centuries the peoples of the Amazon have prepared Ayahuasca as a sacred medicine for healing, guidance and communion with nature and the ancestors. Its name comes from Quechua: aya, spirit or ancestor, and waska, vine.
The brew is cooked slowly over fire from two plants, prayed over and sung into by the curandero who prepares it. In ceremony, the medicine opens a door inward. Guests often describe it as a teacher that shows them their lives with clarity and compassion.
At Enstasis, Ayahuasca is received within its living tradition: in darkness, in a held circle, guided by the icaros of a Maestro who has walked with the plants for decades.
Ayahuasca asks for a well-prepared body and a steady mind. Every guest completes a confidential medical and psychological screening before a place is confirmed. Certain medications, including antidepressants, and certain heart and mental-health conditions require special care or a different path, so our team reviews each application personally and guides you through the preparation dieta.
Llave means key. The Maestro’s work is to open the door to your own interior, and to hold it steady while you walk through.
Maestro Llave is a plant medicine doctor from Peru who has served Ayahuasca and the healing plants of the Amazon for decades. He leads ceremony in the traditional way: preparing the medicine himself, singing the icaros that guide each journey, and working with tobacco, prayer and the spirits of the plants.
Beginning in 2027 he will travel from Peru each quarter to lead the ceremony circles at Enstasis, offering guests direct access to a living lineage of Amazonian healing.

Enstasis lives in the green hills of Costa Rica’s southern Pacific zone, near Dominical and Uvita, where the rainforest rolls down to the sea and humpback whales return each season. Two properties, one vision.

Maestro Llave will lead one ceremony circle each quarter of 2027. Exact dates are released to the waitlist first, before they are published anywhere else.
Enstasis welcomes adults who feel called to turn inward: to reflect on their journey, heal, reset and reconnect with nature and spirit. Some guests come for healing from difficult patterns, others for clarity, creativity or a deeper spiritual practice. First-time and experienced guests are equally welcome.
Ceremonies take place at night in a dedicated ceremonial space. Maestro Llave opens the circle with prayer, serves the medicine, and guides the night with icaros, the sacred healing songs of the Amazon. Facilitators remain present throughout to support each guest. The next morning the group gathers to share and begin integration.
Preparation begins weeks before arrival with the traditional dieta: simple, clean meals of vegetables, grains, fruit and light proteins, with alcohol, pork, heavy spices, salt, sugar and recreational substances set aside. Some medications need to be paused under your doctor’s guidance. After you confirm your place, we send a full preparation guide and schedule a personal call.
Yes. Every guest completes a confidential health and medication questionnaire, reviewed personally by our team. Ayahuasca interacts with some medications, especially antidepressants and other serotonergic drugs, and calls for special care with certain heart and mental-health conditions and during pregnancy. Always speak with your physician about your medications and health.
Retreat pricing, including accommodation, meals, ceremonies, integration support and transfers from San José, is shared with waitlist members when dates open.
Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José. Enstasis arranges group transfers from San José to the sanctuary on Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast and back at the end of your retreat.
